➤कार्बन (Carbon) :- कार्बन लैटिन भाषा के कार्बो से बनाया गया है। जिसका अर्थ कोयला होता है।
भूपर्पटी पर इसका मात्रा 0. 02% है।
कार्बन को प्रांगार भी कहते हैं। कार्बन का संकेत " C " होता है।
➤Carbon: - Carbon is derived from the Latin word carbo. Which means coal.
Its quantity on the earth's crust is 0.2%.
Carbon is also called as precipitate. The symbol for carbon is "C".
➤कार्बन के अपररूप : - कार्बन के वे विभिन्न रूप जिनका रसायनिक गुण समान होता है , परन्तु भौतिक गुण असमान होता है। उसे कार्बन के अपररूप कहते है।
➤Allotrope of carbon :- Different forms of carbon that have similar chemical properties but different physical properties. It is called an allotrope of carbon.

➤हीरा की संरचना
हीरा कार्बन के एक रवादार अपररूप है। इसका अणु समचतु फलकीय होते हैं, जिसमे प्र्त्येक कार्बन परमाणु अन्य चार कार्बन परमाणुओं से सह संयोजक बंधन द्वारा जुड़ा रहता है।
➤Diamond structure
Diamond is a crystalline allotrope of carbon. Its molecules are equilateral faces, in which each carbon atom is attached to the other four carbon atoms by covalent bonds.
➤ग्रेफाइट की संरचना :
ग्रेफाइट कार्बन के एक रवादार अपररूप है। इसका अणु षष्क कोणीय जालक सतह के रूप का होता हैं, जिसमे प्र्त्येक कार्बन परमाणु अन्य तीन कार्बन परमाणुओं से सम्बंधित रहता है।
➤Structure of Graphite:
Graphite is a crystalline allotrope of carbon. Its molecule is in the form of a six-angular lattice surface, in which each carbon atom is related to the other three carbon atoms.
➤ग्रेफाइट का उपयोग :
1. इसका उपयोग इलेट्रोडे बनाने में तथा विधुत के अन्य उपकरण बनाने में किया जाता है।
2. इसका उपयोग पेन्सिल बनाने में है।
3. इसका उपयोग स्नेहक बनाने में किया जाता है।
4. इसका उपयोग कृत्रिम हीरा बनाने में किया जाता है।
5. इसका उपयोग नाभिकिये रिएक्टर में मंदक के रूप में किया जाता है।
➤Uses of Graphite:
1. It is used in making electrodes and other electrical equipment.
2. It is used in making pencil.
3. It is used in making lubricants.
4. It is used in making artificial diamond.
5. It is used as a moderator in nuclear reactors.
➤हीरा का उपयोग :
1.हीरा का उपयोग काटने के औजार बनाने में किया जाता है।
2.चट्टानों में छेद करने के लिए वेदन उपकरण तथा पिसाई के यंत्र बनाने के लिए किया जाता है।
3.इसका उपयोग आँख के मोतियबिंद निकलने के औजार में किया जाता है।
4.इसका उपयोग आभूषण बनाने में किया जाता है।
➤Uses of Diamond :
1. Diamond is used to make cutting tools.
2. Used to make punching tools and grinding machines for drilling holes in rocks.
3. It is used in the tool to remove cataract of the eye.
4. It is used in making jewellery.
